Pumamarca - Picol

This innovative, full day tour is a combination of adventure and history.

After a 15-minute bus ride, we will ride on horseback (30 mins.) to visit the former Casa Hacienda of Pumamarca, an artistic and historic monument, and the palace and residence of Mama Anawarque (Inca Pachacutec’s wife). The entire area has pre-hispanic infrastructure such as ruins, channels, terraces, trails and important walls that indicate a possible sanctuary. We will also see colonial and republican architecture built above pre-existing Inca structures. We will continue on horseback to the Apu Picol (4,402 meters above sea level), considered one of the guardians of the City of Cusco, where we will start a 20-minute hike to the Apu Picol or Pillku Urku from which we will have a magnificent view of the City of Cusco and other guardian apus. We will then descend towards the Valley of Ccorao (40 mins) to board the bus to our lunch stop and Cusco.
